Starting at any corner of your metal building siding, cut 1″ x 2″ furring strips to the height of your GenStone install. Attach the furring strips to your steel building siding with construction adhesive and self-tapping screws. This will create a level installation surface and bridge the gap between the high ribs.
Installing GenStone over existing metal building siding is basically the same process outlined in our step by step installation videos featuring Zach and Amanda from our support team.
GenStone can completely cover your metal building siding or partially cover the siding in the form of a wainscot or skirting project. If you choose to partially cover your steel building siding, closure strips will be required to ensure a weatherproof install.
Metal or neoprene closure strips can be purchased from your local hardware store or through your metal building siding supplier. Closure strips are installed along the top row of any partial wall of GenStone in order to close the gap between the metal ribs and the back of the GenStone panels.
No matter where you are in the process of building, we can show you what GenStone siding would look like on your metal building.
