John upgraded his exterior by covering the lower walls in GenStone Desert Sunrise stacked stone. Warm tans, sandy beiges, and terracotta accents now run as a wainscot under board-and-batten siding, wrapping the garage corner with a matching ledger cap.

Desert Sunrise’s stacked blend adds warm depth along the foundation line, so the base reads as real stone instead of a flat painted band. Outside corners and ledger trim keep the top edge sharp where stone meets wood.

A Desert Sunrise wainscot is a practical curb-appeal upgrade when you want stacked stone on the lower facade without a masonry rebuild. GenStone panels install with basic tools and no mortar.

Expert insight

GenStone panels are rated for outdoor wainscots and foundation covers. Install over a flat, sound substrate, seat interlocking edges, and seal cut edges with the color-matched paint kit. Keep panels clear of grade where code requires, and use outdoor-rated adhesive and caulk.
