George’s Outdoor Kitchen Stone Veneer

George Dern gave his backyard a major upgrade by wrapping his outdoor kitchen in GenStone’s Desert Sunrise panels. The project turned a basic patio setup into a polished, functional space for cooking and entertaining. The stone veneer brings in warm, natural tones that work well with the surrounding landscape and gives the kitchen island and grill area a clean, finished look.

Adding stone veneer to an outdoor kitchen is a smart way to improve both the appearance and durability of the space. GenStone panels have the texture and color depth of real stacked stone, but they’re much easier to work with and hold up well in all kinds of weather. Whether it’s sun, rain, or changing temps, the panels are built to last outside without a lot of maintenance.

George tackled the install himself using GenStone’s lightweight, interlocking system. No mortar or specialized tools needed. Tip: Before securing the panels, dry-fit them around built-in features like grills and fridges to check spacing and avoid any last-minute cuts or gaps.

Why GenStone

GenStone offers a practical alternative to traditional stonework—same look, way less hassle. The panels are easy to install, weather-resistant, and backed by a 25-year warranty, making them a solid choice for outdoor projects where you want lasting results without a major construction job.
