How Easy is it to Install Faux Stone?

Anyone with basic skills can install GenStone.

Only basic carpentry skills are required to install our manufactured faux stone siding. Our faux stone panels are specifically designed for easy installation. After finishing the first few panels, you’ll find a rhythm, allowing the process to go quickly and smoothly. What About Obstacles?

Use our full line of accessories.

You can easily overcome any obstacle during install with some creativity and our complete line of accessories. Outlet and hose bib extension rings are available at your local hardware store and make up for the added thickness of the faux stone panel. We recommend a 2-inch extension, and make sure to add a weather-proof cover. To cut out an outlet, we recommend using a hole saw or a key hole saw.

How Easy is it to Cut GenStone Products?

Hand saw, table saw or circular saw.

Cutting our faux stone panels is really very simple. We recommend a skill saw, but any good wood blade will easily get the job done. A drywall rasp is also an effective tool to smooth cuts and a hand saw or carpenter’s knife is essential if you need to recreate a shiplap edge.

Can Stone Veneer be Installed Over Brick?

GenStone can be installed over any flat surface.

How to Install GenStone Over Brick

GenStone products are perfectly capable of being installed over brick as you can see in this brick resurfacing project. By using adhesive and a standard Tapcon screw, panels can be screwed directly into the brick. Make sure to countersink the Tapcon anchor to a flush position, so you’re able apply the next piece. This gives the façade a beautiful, finished look.

GenStone offers pillar panels that are designed to cover an 8 inch post. Each panel spans 48″ in height and can be terminated into a ceiling or finished with a peaked or flat pillar cap. If you need to cover a larger column, GenStone outside corner panels fit seamlessly together to encase a 17″ post. The corner panels can also be topped off with a larger 23″ peaked or flat column cap.
